So 8 of these INC candidates that won broke the oath they took earlier this year.  But all of them have workarounds and explanations.

For example, one of them is former Goa INC CM Digamber Kamat said that he believes in God and it is true that they had taken an oath not to leave INC ahead of Polls, but he again went to God and asked about a new decision and God agreed, therefore, he left INC and joined BJP.

The Catholic Church should come in and investigate Digamber Kamat's direct communication with God and perhaps he could be given status of Saint or something after he passes on.

Clarification.   Digamber Kamat is actually a Hindu so we should be talking about him being a Hindu Saint and not Catholic Saint.  Goa has a high Catholic population so I did defaulted incorrectly to Catholic Church.

Digamber Kamat has a track record of defections.

He first ran in the Margao assembly seat in 1989 as INC and lost to an INC rebel running as a common opposition candidate.  He then defected to the BJP in 1994 and won as BJP in Margao and continued to win there as BJP in 1999 and 2002.   He became a big BJP leader in Goa of the Upper caste vote.  He wanted to be CM which was denied to him by the BJP so he defected to INC in 2005 with part of his BJP Upper caste bloc and won his seat in 2007 as INC and helping the INC to win a majority that year.  He was made INC CM in 2007-2012 as a compromise candidate between different INC factions.  He won his seat in 2012 2017 and 2022 as INC although the BJP recaptured the CM post in 2012.  He stayed with INC the entire time thinking that he will be CM once INC wins again.  I guess after 2022 he figured that INC will not win in Goa for a while so it made sense to jump back to BJP to get cash in on being in the ruling bloc and try out his luck at becoming BJP CM of Goa in 2027 if BJP wins in 2027.

This is not that unusual.  In 2019 Foxconn CEO Terry Gao decided to run for KMT Prez nomination on ROC after he said that  Sea goddess 媽祖(Mazu) told him to run.  Like all other Southern Coastal Chinese provinces,  Sea goddess 媽祖(Mazu) cult is pretty big in Taiwan Province as well and Terry Gao was well known as a devotee of the 媽祖(Mazu) cult.

Foxconn's Gou Runs for Taiwan President, Citing Message From Sea Goddess

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-04-17/foxconn-s-gou-says-sea-goddess-backs-his-run-for-taiwan-leader

Guo indicated that he spoke to the Sea goddess 媽祖(Mazu)  who gave him the instruction to run.  The Mazu cult started in the Sung dynasty and is based on a story of a girl in Fujian province during that time that sacrificed her life to rush out to sea to save her father whose ship was stranded at sea in the storm.  Mazu is worshiped mostly by fishermen in the Southern Chinese oceanic provinces of Fujian, Guangdong Zhejiang and Taiwan.   Guo himself is actually pretty religious but part of this story has to be the fact that he will need to appeal to conservative-religious voters in the general election as he should have the economic voter locked up.

On a separate note if Guo is elected in 2020 then there could be a bake-off between him and Trump on who has higher net worth.  I suspect that Trump by a small margin most likely have a higher net worth than Guo,
