(forgot to add this early on but Biden was impeached earlier in 2023 in this TL; he was not removed from office)

Was Joe Biden impeached over Afghanistan, the Hunter Biden stuff, or something to do with inflation? I also think that Themis Klarides, Tiffany Smiley, and Joe O’Dea will very narrowly win in the midterm elections this year. I don’t know if you want to modify the 2022 results map to show them winning or no?

Basically all of them plus the border crisis, although that all got lumped into lying under oath and abuse of power.

I'll update the maps to be consistent with my 2022 predictions, in which I don't see any of them winning at the moment.

I assume the impeachment vote in the Senate was at least 34 Republicans in favor plus Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema. It is also possible that impeachment might have gotten up to 50 or so votes in the Senate depending on whether or not Mitch McConnell and the leadership backed it. In the House, it likely easily passed with at least 230 votes if I had to guess.

All R senators except Romney and Collins vote to convict. Manchin and Sinema do not, but it does end up taking time for Manchin to make a decision.

So the vote would be 52-48 in favor if my calculations are correct. The House I would say maybe like 240 in favor of impeachment, as Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise will heavily whip for it. Out of the Class of 2022, Tom Kean Jr. and Allen Fung would be the most uncertain votes on a hypothetical Biden impeachment if I had to guess.

September 15, 2023: Donald Trump Changes Residency from Florida to New Jersey, Prompting Running Mate Speculation

Donald Trump has reportedly changed his residency from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida to his Bedminster estate in New Jersey. While it’s been speculated that Trump would choose Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as his running mate, it seems that he only changed his residency now after “fighting with advisers.”

(Trump claimed that he could win the presidency without Florida, while his advisers pressured him to change his residency as it wasn’t worth risking the loss of Florida’s 30 electoral votes.)
