I sometimes wonder why Republicans are doing better than Democrats at the moment.  Then I find topics like this and it becomes clear.

Quite frankly, if Democrats don't quit refusing to support someone unless they're 100% happy with that person, they can kiss ever being the majority party goodbye.

YES BUT ZE CANDIDATE MUST BE IDEOLOGICALLY PURE!!!!!!11111111111111111

i think he should run against Rendell in the primary. if he focuses his campaign about the pay raise, he could pull it off.

Ooo I like this idea.  I really like Hoeffel, but unfortunetly he bombed in a statewide race, meanwhile Casey is a proven statewide candidate who has a much better shot at winning ares that Hoeffel lost.  As far as a governor run, I don't think he could beat Rendell but I'd sure as hell like to see somebody try.

Flyers.... What are you thinking?

Right now our focus should be booting Santorum out of office. I don't care who our candidate is as long as he's not a whack...

Casey is our best chance at picking this seat up so why run someone who won't have half as much of a chance at winning.

Sorry Mr. Blue Dog, I do care about who it is!

Casey has the spine to attack Santorum on the Iraq war.

Casey wholeheartedly supportes the Iraq War plus he opposes embryonic stem cell research.  He will get my vote over Rick Santorum, but he will not get one cent nor a second of volunteer time out of me.  It will be more like "here's my fu(king vote daddy's boy."

Thank you!  He is almost as bad as Chuck Pennacchio on speaking.  He is an absolute joke and Karl Rove will make sure to pound his last name into fine powder.  This is the basis of my argument for a spirited primary.  Joe Hoeffel had to work through the political ranks to get to where he is, not handed statewide seats because of a last name.  However, I DO NOT want Santorum reelected by any means and still think Casey is 10000000X better, but Casey is not sitting too well with me.  I am sensing some early red flags with him.

Yes, please do. Santorum would win easily and I'm beginning to think Santorum will be likely to win against Casey. You guys are falling apart.

That's mostly name recognition at this point. When it comes down to campaigning, Casey will certainly lose ground to the much more charismatic Santorum.

Casey didn't wholeheatedly support the Iraq war, he just said he thought it was the right thing at the time but he isn't thrilled with what has happened, and it points out on his website that if he was a US Senator he would be demanding answers from Bush on his plan for Iraq...unlike Santorum.

Unfortunately they took my favorite Lee Corso quip out of NCAA football 2006. But after election day 2006, it will apply to Casey's campaign:

"It looked good early, but got real bad late."

yeah, maybe Casey could've broke 60% if it didn't get so bad.
