That's not the reason for the disparity. I, for example, actually have more posts logged than my "official" count indicates.

I think there are just hiccups in the software where an operation's database operations don't ALL complete and so you may be left in a situation where the post count is updated but the actual post doesn't go through for some reason, or a post is deleted but the count fails to be updated, and while this is rare, they can accumulate over time.

As for me, I actually see a different number of posts for him as my version of the post history shows reported posts (posts he reported). It's just a byproduct of how the report system works. Reporting a post does increase your post count by 1, for that reason.

Perhaps one of these days I should have the forum re-calculate actual post counts  Surprise

Looking through, it looks like most of the most prolific posters have slightly overstated counts, but many posters with post counts like mine actually have slightly understated post counts.  I have a few more listed on my profile than my official number (9833 vs. 9826).  Do you know why it works differently for less prolific posters?

An institution. Even when I strongly disagree with him, he brings a perspective that literally no one else can bring, and it's quite entertaining

He's great but am I the only one who pronounces BRTD as "Bird Turd"?

I pronounce it as "Bread Head" for some reason. I have no clue where the H comes from.

The very definition of an Atlas Institution. Also a creepy, annoyingly pedantic, overzealous, impenetrable, intellectually dishonest hack who chooses to die on the weirdest hills that make you wonder what his real priorities are. HP. FF

Very mixed bag. His posts about politics and elections (not faux political personal obsessions like the Krassensteins, etc) are  In fact usually pretty good. His Is chronic Spam posting about personal obsessions, though, is just attention whoring 90% of the time.  Frankly, if he It was a newbie pulling this stuff rather than a "Atlas institution" , The Mods would probably Be seriously considering a ban. Yet again, regardless of whether one Greece or disagrees with his personal manit's personal media's, it's just attention whoring.

All in all, I based these Votes on my own personal assessment of whether or not Atlas would be better off or worse off if they left. I can say that Atlas would be just not the same, and yes in a worse way, if red left. FF.

Lacks the ability to navigate staircases when high on marijuana. Not an entertaining poster, terrible taste in music, weird foot fetish, not very knowledgable about American history or policy, but super opinionated based on not much, people like him are the reason the Democratic Party sucks.

A forum institution, and this place would not be the same without him.

Believe at one point I accused him vicariously of being a "Seagull" (Urban Dictionary for anybody who doesn't get the ref)....

Still never really thought about it that way, maybe "Big Bird" might be a better turn of phrase?

Still, as have previously posted, actually come to really like the dude, especially now that he is done calling me an authoritarian communist loving dictator worshiping scumbag (Ok--- don't believe he ever actually said that in those exact words, but sometimes takes my Irish genes a bit longer to forgive and forget than others perhaps.)   Wink

He's certainly an Atlas Institution. He's been on here longer than most other posters (Harry beats him out, but by only a month), has more posts than just about everyone else, and is certainly eccentric, in many ways. My views of him have changed over time. I'd consider him an FF.

I was just about to agree with your post, but then it dawned on me that he travels a fair bit, goes to concerts regularly, and tools around his hipster Minneapolis neighborhood a bit. You and I both have steady jobs and kids who keep us busy and fulfilled karma but I'll be darn if it's tough for me to say Red  Doesn't have a life by comparison.
