It depends on the issue. I have a few red lines that I am quite strict on, but have an immensely courteous streak and am quite easygoing in 90% of cases.
The people you're hearing from are probably those who crossed a lot of those red lines, only in online settings.

Haven't worn corduroy pants since the 1980s, never owned a top hat (although I think they are pretty cool), and haven't been involved in local theater since the 1980s when I was a kid.

Don't have any Simon and Garfunkel on vinyl (although now that you mention might want to consider bcs of the enhanced audio quality).   

Since the original question was about personality, I think you're right on both counts.
