It depends on the issue. I have a few red lines that I am quite strict on, but have an immensely courteous streak and am quite easygoing in 90% of cases.
The people you're hearing from are probably those who crossed a lot of those red lines, only in online settings.

I have no idea tbh after reading all kinds of sh*t about him today. But based on my experience, here and only here, sans any pm's, I find him mature, civil, analytical, and very much enjoy interacting with him. Maybe irl, he hates adorable puppies, but I tend to doubt that.

Wanted to jump on this bc Torie seems like an incredibly cool and wise person.  He strikes me as someone who is always up to chat about pretty much anything -- incredibly friendly and congenial.  

Midlander and L.D. are harder reads, but both seem like a really nice folks! Wouldn't surprise me if both are nothing but pleasant and courteous! (Also for some reason, Midlander strikes me as someone who loves ice cream free samples )

If anything I am all too aware of my shortcomings. Even here I have probably posted candidly far more than the average poster about how aware I am of my many problems and what I’m trying to do to fix them. Not always easy but I’m more self-aware than you might think. And I really do think I’ve gotten a bit better lately. My gf has helped a lot.

As for you, I think you’re probably a smart guy but maybe a little tunnel-visioned yourself. Kind of guy who could hold his own well in a debate but maybe comes across as a little too self-righteous himself at times.
