I think Spitzer would trash Suozzi in his backyard by 20 points.

In a race like this, why is it even worthwhile to pay attention to things like this? Spitzer's going to destroy everyone, become the governor, and that's pretty much it.

Suozzi has done an amazing job at turning around Nassau County.  I donated to his campaign for re-election last year even though I knew he would win re-election in a landslide (which he did).  With that being said I will be voting for Spitzer in the Primary, and Nassau County will as well.  We do have a decent candidate in Nassau legis Dave Mejias (who is my legislator) but what Suozzi really should have done is take on Peter King for Congress, a race he would have won.

As I said while I really like Mejias and think he will be a pretty strong challenge to King, this is the race Suozzi should have gone after.  He would have beaten King.

I just remembered that I made this thread and I checked the results.

Spitzer 26524, 59.45%
Suozzi 18092, 40.55%

Not even all that close.

Well I guess the good news for Suozzi was that he won re-election last year in the General by a larger amount than Spitzer beat him in the Primary by.  I was one of those 26,524 that voted of Spitzer, despite really liking Suozzi.  Spitzer was the obvious choice.
