No way Lieberman would switch. He's a Democrat on the vast majority of issues; overall he's more liberal than Chafee for sure.

It's about as ridiculous as the talk of McCain switching parties a couple years back.

Whether or not he switches parties, Lieberman will remember who supported him when it's time to cast votes.

Yeah... not you guys.

Ain't that the truth...  Tongue

Which is why CT should elect Lamont.

He isn't more liberal then Chafee on the issues that matter most.

This would be my dream come true.  Probably won't though.

It would be my dream come true as well. It would prove all of the Lamont people were right about Joe, and it would gaurantee that Joe never wins another election in his life in CT.

Which is EXACTLY why, of course, that Lieberman will never do this - b/c it would be impossible for him to ever survive another election. All of the republicans donating money to him are truly deranged if they think he is going to switch parties, and are flushing their dollars down the toilet.

Yeah, the benefits of being a CT Democrat are obviously apparent from Lieberman's standpoint.

I wouldn't expect you or any other republican to understand, Soulty, and you only proved me right.

According to Bob Novak, republican donors are supporting Lieberman in the hopes that he will switch parties if he wins reelection.
I certainly believe that ... ie that they're financing him and that they have such hopes. I wouldn't rule out a switch (probably as a nominal indy caucussing with them, though) but I doubt it.

Btw, I don't think it'd doom him. Six years is a helluva lot of time.
