New Orleans seems like a more fun place to visit. But I would rather actually live in Atlanta, especially if we're talking the whole metro area. Lower crime rates, more amenities, better overall location, and WAY less likely to be underwater in my lifetime. The traffic sucks though.

Probably Atlanta, even if New Orleans the more interesting place to visit.

I'd pick Savannah over either, both to live and to visit.

New Orleans is more cultured and a better place to visit by far. I don't want to be underwater and drown though and that's far more important. Atlanta, which likely has a better job market.

NO is basically unlivable weather wise for several months out of every year.  The traffic is sh**t in Atlanta.  (of course Atlanta is humid too and NO gets plenty of traffic)  Crime is bad in both places, but like (nearly) everywhere else, it's pretty easy to avoid.
