Breckinridge was a bigger sore loser. Fun fact: the spelling of Breckinridge, Colorado was changed to Breckenridge to stop honoring John C. Breckinridge.

Funner fact: It was actually named Breckenridge first, after a local gold prospector named Tom Breckenridge. It was changed to "Breckinridge" to honor the then-newly elected VP in the hopes of gaining a post office, which they got. They then promptly changed it back to the original name after Breckinridge joined the Confederate army
