Massive HP because of environmental pollution as well as safety issues (extremely dangerous). Why are they allowed???

I can understand the argument that they shouldn't be paid for by the govt as a way to recruit into their armed forces (I'd still disagree, but it's a good and easy argument to make), but banning them all together would be wrong from a freedom stand point.  Some people like to see science in action.

Big waste of money. The US Military continues to be one of the biggest misallocation of resources in the history of humanity, and America will pay dearly for this mistake.

Enthusiast events like Oshkosh are terrific, of course. Trade shows like Paris are just part of the business, like any other industry. Military air shows are just an expensive part of any military's PR. If we're talking about pollution from aviation, air shows are just a tiny fraction of the total.

A friend of mine had a Super Decathlon that I learned how to fly (or more accurately, take off/land) taildraggers on, but it's also a true aerobatic plane that can fly inverted, so I took the opportunity to learn aerobatics, too. Amazingly fun.
