The fact that a lot of Dems seem more interested in fighting other Americans than the Taliban is one of the reasons it's looking like they're going to get wiped out.

a leader of fierce leftist conviction to wage a long ideological war with the Opposition.

Being leftist is the problem, not the solution. I have said many times that a moderate, broadly populist Dem party could turn America into a borderline single party state with how messed up the Republicans are. But instead they just get more and more woke which gives the Republicans a chance.

Donald Trump crusaded for five whole years against "other Americans", bruh.  Save it, sister.

I think that the time has come for the Democratic Party to consider the Republican Menace a grave threat to the people of this country and that in order to save this nation, this party needs a young, charismatic leader that can whip it into shape and be absolutely ruthless in obtaining power so that once and for all, we can destroy the opposition.

Is this a recruiting poster for a fascist paramilitary?

Yes.  Inspired by the Trumpite Insurrectionists... they invade the Capitol and their party gets back into Congress in two years.  Welcome to America.

I don't care about wokeness.  I care about massive wealth redistribution.  The rich have everything - people have nothing.  The entire economy is rigged beyond belief and the left have every right to fight against this Gilded Age trainwreck.

OP is right and this isn't doomerism.  Democrats are a pathetic, weak-kneed worthless party.

There's a reason 80% of the population agrees with democrats on most issues yet nothing gets done about it.  And the blame is mostly Democratic politicians who care more about their own ambitions than the causes they tell everyone are so important.  Every impotent worthless Democrat should be primaries until there are 230 Dem congressmen who fight the right like Eric Swalwell does.  I don't even agree with Dems on pretty much any fiscal issue but they have let the GOP terrorize this country long enough.

?  He's one of the few Dems in congress with any fight.  He is suing Mo Brooks.  He is the closest thing to an attack dog the left has right now.

This country is beyond all hope.  This is no United States.  This is a bitterly divided partisan country torn apart and broken in two.  In history, there are always revolutions when things get this bad.  It's headed towards dictatorship and it will happen faster than anyone imagined.

Republicans will win the 2022 midterms in a landslide.  This will cause a revolution in the streets once the Far Right takes over Capitol Hill.  Biden is not going to last long.  Harris is going to be slaughtered in 2024, and then the Republicans get everything they ever wanted and more.

When that day comes, the Democrats start mass demonstrations all across the country, like the Tea Party on speed, and force the Republicans to take drastic measures, and accelerate their impending collapse.

Only one party dominates.  Only one party is the Alpha.  And once Old Joe is gone, the party needs a massive overhaul and a leader of fierce leftist conviction to wage a long ideological war with the Opposition.
lol.

True, Democratic policies are popular (SS, Medicare, Medicaid, free college, universal health care), but how do they get those policies enacted and can they do it without alienating Manchin, Sinema, Golden and Gottheimer who represent moderate areas? Gottheimer represents Sussex County, a GOP stronghold. They don't like big government, that's why Scott Garrett hung on so long...........

If the GOP is so unpopular, why are they relevant in rural areas and even some urban areas like Mt. Greenwood, Chicago and Staten Island/Bay Ridge, NYC?

I did not vote for Trump either time and my comment had nothing to do with him. That's just changing the subject.

OP is right and this isn't doomerism.  Democrats are a pathetic, weak-kneed worthless party.

Yup. It’s a big communication problem, they talk about stuff that benefits working class people but at the same time are too disgusted by working class people that they would rather not speak their language or elevate their voices into power. Run working class people instead!

It’s a contrast to Trump, who was pretty much doing stuff against the working class interests but he just knew to speak their language (despite being part of the same elite group Democrats are) and elevate their self-esteem. He never tries to lecture them, even when he disagrees with something that his base believes in.

Policy + Proposals matters less and Image + Construction of an Identity matters more these days. It’s a consequence of depoliticization of society in some ways, that people are more willing to vote for someone they like best instead of someone they think will be better leader for the country. Politics become this weird reality show contest that is self-destructive in the long term. Which only empowers the Chinese discourse that democracy is actually a weakness and against the country interests.

If the GOP is so unpopular, why are they relevant in rural areas and even some urban areas like Mt. Greenwood, Chicago and Staten Island/Bay Ridge, NYC?

Yeah winning rural areas and Staten Island =/= relevant.  Look at the latest census and see how relevant rural areas are becoming.  State Island is an outlier in big cities, for every Staten Island there's like 100+ Democratic city areas.  Plus it's not like Republicans overwhelmingly win places like State Island.  I believe in 2018 Max Rose won the Staten Island portion of his district.

The GOP is relevant because they have a natural advantage in the senate, which they've used to leverage SCOTUS seats and thus change voting rights laws, all while screaming about activist judges.  The GOP has been more aggressive out of necessity, to maintain their relevance.  They haven't been relevant in terms of American culture in a really long time.

Which brings us to this thread.  Dems don't fight fire with fire.  If they did, Puerto Rico and DC would be states and they'd invoke a standing filibuster at minimum.  Moderate dems say they don't want one party to vote for the John Lewis Act.  Do they think the voting rights restrictions at the state level are bipartisan.  And btw, the Texas law was passed after Dems failed to maintain a standing filibuster there...

Swalwell's voting record is to the left of the average citizen on most issues.  The point wasn't how far left he is.  The point is that he's one of the few congressmen who has been aggressive against the GOP's bull****.

As always, Jfern and Red Velvet are right once again.

Amazing how the only good takes are coming from a D-MA avatar, blue avatars, Non-Swing Voter and thr33. Democrats truly are out of touch with the reality on the ground since 2016.

I noticed another thing about Democrats: the party leadership is like Prehistoric at this point.  I'm not dissing on older people, but c'mon dude - the average party leader these days is like ready for mummification.  It's so weird.
