Why was this race even called in the first place?

Why was this race even called in the first place?
I do wonder after the blue shifts of 2018 and the much discussed blue shifts in the Midwest this year if Decision Desks did not consider the possibilities of Red shifts enough. California particularly is confusing networks bc it had such a notable blue shift in 2018 but is seemingly having a red shift this year. Those races where Republicans are up 10 and late counted ballots are going harder R should be called, but there is still some feeling that there will be a late trickle of Dem votes that will reverse the result. Like why was CA-4 not called 5 days after the election but NJ-7 was called so quickly?

While it's not going to be by much and they did call this too soon, Malinowski probably wins. Kean would have to win the remaining vote by a huge margin.

Most of the remaining votes seem to be in Morris and Malinowski has a redder part of Morris. Still probably Malinowski although a bit early of a call. The fact Hunterdon is almost done and only +3 Trump isn't a great sign for Kean but Kean seems to be overperforming Trump massively.

Kean probably needs to run ahead of Trump 2016 to win. Any signs of that?
