Suppose you are running as the Democrat. You are way ahead in the red states and decide to spend most of your money
in the grey states. Which red states do you abandon? Which grey states do you target?

I Would target all the grey states and make sure my lead doesn’t fall in the Red states.

Good strategy, since the leads could fall in the red states.

Oh, and to be more precise, it is September 15, 2020 and the map is what the polls are showing.

Obviously depends on the candidate, but I said Target FL, GA, NC, NE-02, and maybe IA. I think OH, ME-02, and TX could flip in a large Democratic victory but the five races I mentioned prior should all be easier wins.

I don't think any of the "abandon" options are good. I would argue that all five Tilt (AZ, WI) or Lean (MI, PA, NH) Democratic.

Based on what I have seen in this thread and others this could be the final map:

This scenario is not very likely, if NC and FL are competitive the democratic nominee would probably be the underdog in TX and OH and neither would be a realistic target. The only scenario where Ohio and Texas are competitive is if the democratic nominee wins the popular vote by a high single digit margin or even a double digit margin, but under this scenario NC and FL would probably vote democrat by a healthy margin.

Target NC, FL and GA. Abandon MN and NH (because of few EV's in latter one, and because MN will vote to the left of WI/MI/PA.)

I would wonder why I am running as a Democrat.
