Election Night 2018, Part 1

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to CNN's coverage of the 2018 midterm elections. I'm Wolf Blitzer and my team and I are now covering a crucial night that will determine the balance of power for the second half of President Haslam's first term. It's 7 pm and CNN can now make our first projections in the states of Vermont, Virginia and Indiana. CNN can now project that Appointed Senator Jim Douglas will easily be elected for his first term with 68% of the vote, and thus he defeats his Democratic opponent, State Senator Claire D. Ayer."

November 2018, Part 2

November 7th

- President Haslam gave a speech at the White House about the results of the 2018 midterm elections that gave a supermajority for the Republican Party in both houses of the Congress. Here's what he declared in his speech:

"In the last two years, we listened to the American people and understood their concerns. In the last two years, we brought America back in the right direction through the promotion of free enterprise and free market, through tax cuts for all the people, through our rapid transition to energy independence, through the promotion of free trade, through a reinforcement of our military, of our security measures and of our alliances, which allowed us to orchestrate an effective fight against radical Islamic terrorism, to defeat ISIS in Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Yemen, and North Africa, to find and kill Baghdadi and to take the advantage against North Korea and Iran in the context of their nuclear threats. So the American people was convinced that the best is yet to come and that they had to contribute into it. So we are thankful of your support. I want to congratulate all of the Republican and Democratic midterm candidates, whether they won or lost and whether or not they are from the same party. The American people gave us the mandate to pursue the economic, social and national security progress of the last two years. As a result, we will pass all the necessary laws to create jobs, to get America to full employment, to further reinforce our country's national unity, to defend our people's constitutional rights, to keep America safe and to get us to total victory against radical Islamic terrorism. Thank you. God bless America."

It's very rare and while there was still a bit of actual counting left, it was agreed that Rice won, but in the end, she had 50% to 48% after the recount was officially finished on the 12th.

President Haslam's Second State of the Union Address

"Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, Members of Congress, distinguished guests, and fellow Americans: every year, we can't stop thinking about the future. And this year, it's clear that we can do it with great optimism and enthusiasm. Last year was a year of great reforms and successes for America."

*APPLAUSE*

"We are living a time of prosperity. Thanks to our efforts, thanks to the promotion of free market, free enterprise, lower taxes, energy independence and free trade, we created over 9.2 million new jobs and we brought our unemployment rate at its lowest rate in 50 years."

*APPLAUSE*

"Our first goal is to make America the best business-friendly environment in the world. And that's we are doing since the last 2 years by cutting taxes for all Americans and for all businesses and by lowering our corporate tax rate. Last year, we took bold actions in order to boost America's infrastructures by encouraging fiscal responsibility, by reducing the federal gasoline tax, by turning back control of the highways to the states and by promoting public-private partnerships in order to fund infrastructure programs here in America. Several private businesses, including James Group International, HNTB Corporation, AECOM and Jacobs Engineering Group, partnered with the U.S. Department of Treasury in order to develop new infrastructures around the country. As a result, we will reinforce the dynamism of our country as well as innovation, we're going to facilitate our nation's economic activities and we're going to convince our future business owners that America is the best place in the world to do business, which will further encourage job creation thanks to the ingenuity and entrepreneurship of the American people."

*APPLAUSE*

"Our second goal is to make America energy independent and we are about to accomplish this objective by the end of this year. Last year, we opened our coasts to offshore drilling and by building a transcontinental pipeline, we facilitated oil transportation. We are about to invest a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies, including solar, wind, nuclear and hydroelectric energies. America is now finally taking advantage of all of its sources of energy."

*APPLAUSE*

"This will not only encourage strong job creation for this country without any increase of taxpayers' fiscal burden or our businesses' fiscal burden, but it will also give the world a clean environment thanks to a reduction of air pollution and thanks to an improvement of America's ecological footprint."

*APPLAUSE*

"Our third goal is to reinforce our trade ties with our allies around the world. Last year, we ratified a new free trade deal that now includes all of the Americas, the American Continental Free Trade Agreement. As a result, we further reduced our tariffs, we further reduced the price of American products, we reinforced our trade relations with Latin America, we allowed our country to counter-balance China's trade power. America has reinforced its status as the nation with the greatest trade power in the world."

*APPLAUSE*

"And by promoting free trade with Latin America, we gave our businesses, including Hispanic small businesses in the United States thanks to language opportunities and their fluency in Spanish and English, new opportunities to innovate, to increase their competitiveness, to get new consumers by giving them access to American products, to create jobs in our country and ensure their business' expansion. Thanks to their bilingualism, they raised to a dominant position among the importers, exporters, translators and executives who ensure such a cultural and commercial exchange."

*APPLAUSE*

"Finally, we were able to institute a program that, starting Next month, will give High School Seniors across the country 2 years of Free Community College, giving them a chance to learn about the college before they have to enroll and start paying for a college. For many, many years children have to pay an excessive amount for College of any sort. While I can't give everyone completely free college around the country, 2 years of free community college is a good start."

*APPLAUSE*

"Together, Republicans and Democrats alike, put our differences aside and worked together in order to get things done. We successfully reformed our immigration system, which gave immigrants all across this country the chance to earn U.S. citizenship, to raise their families, to find good-paying jobs, to prosper and to live the American Dream. America has reinforced its status as the land of opportunity where everything is possible."

*APPLAUSE*

"Last year, we made strong progress in the fight against terrorism. We further put terrorists on defense by reinforcing our military as well as our security measures, our homeland security and our alliances and by providing our allies all the necessary military, material, training and intelligence support they need, we eliminated ISIS and Al Qaeda in Egypt just like we eliminated Tahrir al-Sham in Syria."

*APPLAUSE*

"We successfully orchestrated a major pivot of our foreign policy to the African continent, a strategic area where we not only developed our economic ties with our local allies and prioritized the fight against AIDS but also increased our efforts to fight radical Islamic terrorism there."

*APPLAUSE*

"After Boko Haram's failed attempt to take control of Niger's uranium in order to build nuclear weapons or weapons of mass destruction that they would have used against us, we created the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office in order to counter attempts by terrorists or other threat actors to carry out an attack against the United States or its interests using a weapon of mass destruction by supporting operational partners in closing capability gaps along adversary pathways and by investing and developing innovative technologies to meet partner requirements and improve operations. As a result, we stopped nuclear terrorist attacks from being triggered, thus reinforcing international stability and security."

*APPLAUSE*

"And for these two purposes and also for the sake of international peace, we increased economic and diplomatic sanctions against any nation, firm or individual doing business with Oppressive nations like China and Turkey or sponsoring global terrorism."

*APPLAUSE*

"Thanks to Japan's decision to remilitarize itself in order to counter China's Expansionist Threat, we further increased the pressure on Beijing and we will get to a non-communist China and to a stabilized and peaceful environment in the Pacific Ocean."

*APPLAUSE*

"By aiding our allies across the world, the Nations of Persia and Venezuela have seen their first free elections in a long, long time. In one year, the Nation of Persia went from an Islamic Republic to a fully functioning Democracy and just a few months ago, they officially elected Shirin Ebadi as their first President. We have been able to stabilize Syria, Venezuela, and Persia and Kurdistan, long the idea of those who wanted to give the freedoms to a people who were always on the misused side of History, officially elected their first President in Kurdish History 2 months ago. It was also through Last Year's policies that Russia backed down and are afriad to challenge us in any area."

*APPLAUSE*

"In General, 2018 was one of the best years for Democracy with the countries of Venezuela, Persia,
Kurdistan, Cuba, and the Northern part of the United Korean Republic, formerly the rogue hermit nation known as North Korea, elected their first real representatives that they felt believed in their policies best. There are also some reports that in this year, the Free Syrian Republic may have it's first Elected President since the 80s. With the ideas of Democracy approaching areas where Democracy was once thought impossible, we are now showing the world that Democracy is strong and that it can last.

*APPLAUSE*

"Together, as Americans, we are determined to overcome our challenges, abroad and at home, and that requires putting our differences aside and putting partisanship aside in order to get things done. We are a people that has faith not only in freedom but also in gender equity, freedom of religion, the right to self defense and freedom of speech. But only together we can defend these precious values, get America to permanent prosperity and to peace through strength. So I call on the American people, Republicans, Democrats and Independents to work together in order to get things done for the good of the American people and for the sake of America's future. United we stand, divided we fall.

Thank you. God bless you all and God bless the United States of America.

It appears that you have been copying much from UWS' Iowa is Rubio Country.

I had noticed a few too many similarities to it recently, from the constant focus on random things in the middle east, as well as candidates that were in the 2018 elections.

Let us take a look, from the spot where I decided I had to point this out. There are a bunch of other places where there was copying, but this spot exemplifies what is going on here best:

Here is Iowa is Rubio Country's Wisconsin election projections:

Wolf Blitzer : Another success for the Republicans. We can now declare Mark Green the winner of the senate race in Wisconsin. He did well in Wisconsin's northeastern, center, western regions as well as in some southern counties like Kenosha, which put him over the top. In the gubernatorial race, Governor Scott Walker will be re-elected with 54 % of the vote, defeating Paul Soglin who got 45 % of the vote.

Wisconsin Senate - 100 % of the vote reported
Mark Green : 53 % (Republican pick-up)
Tammy Baldwin : 46 %

Wisconsin Governor - 100 % of the vote reported
Scott Walker : 54 %
Tammy Baldwin : 45 %

Now, here is Good Ol' Rocky Top's Wisconsin projections:

"Another success for the Republicans. We can now declare Mark Green the winner of the senate race in Wisconsin. He did well in Wisconsin's northeastern, center, western regions as well as in some southern counties like Kenosha, which put him over the top. In the gubernatorial race, Governor Scott Walker will be re-elected with 58% of the vote, defeating Paul Soglin who got 42% of the vote."

Wisconsin Senate - 100% of the vote Reported

Green: 55% ✔
Baldwin: 44%

Wisconsin Governor - 100% of the vote reported

Walker: 59% ✔
Baldwin: 40%

The error of listing Baldwin's name in both projections was not corrected from Rubio Country. The only thing changed in this particular case were the vote percentages and the removal of Wolf Blitzer's name from the quotes, plus some other menial changes.

Actually, this was mostly Election nights for the whole copying things. While it does seem like I am copying IiRC, I am not, in anyway shape or form, copying the whole presidency things. I have looked at Specific things and have Posted what I believe are the natural correlation of things. If it does seem similar, I do apologise to UWS and anyone else who thinks this. For the whole Election Night debacle, I actually copy and past the commentary bits and edit where I believe are necessary. If you want to be my own personal editor from now on to tell me what is similar to IiRC and what isn't, then I will will give you a preview of every update from here forward. I haven't actually read IiRC and only get the Election Nights just for use from it so I can have less trouble on my hands, though, as I said earlier, I am editing what I think is good and what I think should be edited.

Again, if there are thoughts of Plagiarism outside of the Election Night Commentary and pictures, I do apologise to any reader and I assure you that they are all very naturally made and worked on by myself.

There have been too many spots to list when it comes to the copying from IiRC. It is not limited to the election nights; a good deal of the other content for Haslam's presidency is also copied. We all must be aware of that plagiarism is not good at all- a internet forum is not the worst place to acknowledge it.

Plagiarism in school will really harm you. Best to stop a bad habit from starting now!

Excellent time line; but need to point out inconsistencies, one is you have Bob Corker and Lindsey Graham as Secretary of State, also both Mitt Romney and Mark Cuban are Secretary of the Treasury; point about Florida, state prohibits Senators or Congresspersons from seeking another office simultaneously; if you recall Marco Rubio had choose between seeking the Presidency and his Senate seat in 2016; he opted for the Presidency, only deciding to seek his Senate seat when he was out of the national picture. There is no mention of the Florida legislature enacting a "LBJ Law". FYI only California, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas & Wisconsin allow for such a "dual mandate feature.

I can see that this thread has run its course, a disappointment really, but not realistic, there's no way that an in-party controlling the White House can do as well as Republicans did in this 2018 OTL, the closest was George W. Bush that was in the aftermath of the 2001 9/11 attacks, and even then Republicans didn't do as well as they do with Bill Haslam at the helm. Jeb Bush would have been a better subject. Nice while it lasted.

This member wants to know as to why 'Good Ol' Rocky Top' has ended? It would have been interesting to see how things would have panned out. As far as the storyline went, it was a bit far fetched, but fun.
