What are your opinions on the cloning of animals, such as identical replicants of horses, dogs, and other animals (which can be done), and do you support the cloning of humans beings for scientific (or other...) purposes?

depends on what specifically you're talking about, but generally yes to both.

If it can resurrect extinct species, cloning could be a good thing.

Yes for animals; I am not for cloning sentient human beings.

There are places for both so it might help to be specific. For example here are two potential uses for human reproductive cloning (that is, cloning a new sentient individual as opposed to tissues):

- to be "miracle children"; i.e. cloning a "twin" of a child with leukemia so the clone can act as a donor.

- to allow infertile couples a chance to have a child with their DNA

How would that constitute cloning?

Everyone is already like everyone else. Cloning would be superfluous.

Should be more specific: for couples who are both infertile and can't be helped via IVF, a clone may be the only way out. The big issue would be that some might be uncomfortable with the notion of effectively having your own twin as your child.
