The Pontificate of Pope John Paul I lasted  for 33 days, August 26 1978-September 28 1978.

There have been consistent conspiracy theories that he was murdered.

Do you believe Pope John Paul I was murdered?

Please vote and discuss should you wish.

I automatically disbelieve all conspiracy theories, but this one is at least plausible.

Why would he be murdered? John Paul I doesn't seem all that liberal in context of the 1970s, and wasn't an enthusiastic Vatican II-er.

That the Metropolitan of Leningrad suddenly took sick and died right after John Paul I's conclave does ring a few bells though.
