being a senator isn't really a job one needs "qualifications" for IMO. Like I can understand why you'd argue qualifications for the President, cause that job is so overpowered; but being part of a legislature is perfectly acceptable for amateurs.

sure but would you support a random nobody over a sitting senator? unless that sitting senator is a criminal or child molester (or voted for something horrible), idk how u justify that vote.

The one who has never provided any form of aid to Julian Assange, left.

Easily Ben Cardin. I don't tend to support traitors.

Manning isn't a traitor.

In fact I'd have no problem whatsoever with what she did as long as it redacted the names of certain people involved and didn't involve Wikileaks.

It's the involvement of Julian Assange that infuriates me, exposing US military secrets doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Cardin.

No reverse Sharron Angles in the hopes of getting a reverse Mike Lee, not worth it. Not until Trump/Pence is defeated or 2025 rolls in.

We need to pretend Julian Assange doesn't breathe oxygen so BRTD doesn't suffocate himself.

Who is unironically supporting Manning??? She's a bit more progressive than Cardin, sure, but she went to prison for leaking classified info. And she has no qualifications what-so-ever other than she's transgender. This is one of the more visible instances of identity politics that I just find laughable.
seriously THIS is identity politics

She wouldn't be getting as much attention if her opponent wasn't complete trash. And not all of us consider going to prison for leaking documents of US atrocities a bad thing.

Would much rather write in Donna Edwards. Manning if I'm forced.

Cardin. I don't really have a strong opinion on Manning one way or the other and find the extreme hatred vs. cult worship battle pretty amusing. Cardin is boring as hell but pretty inoffensive and seems to be a reliable vote. Also, Manning could very well be our Roy Moore (electorally, not in terms of actions.)

Huh? Basically nobody ever cared about Ben Cardin until Manning ran against him. Seriously, I rarely saw him mentioned anywhere because he's so irrelevant.

If I agreed with them and they weren't an obvious con artist like Trump; yes.

We're talking about a legislator and not someone who's part of the Executive here mind - and I'm of the belief that if more, well, normal people were involved in the drafting and passing of legislation things would be a lot better.

Option 4, I guess.

I haven't understood the point of the Manning candidacy yet.

I think Chelsea Manning is a brave person, and is most certainly not a traitor. However, Cardin is a decent Senator and I'll support him in the primary.
