Now why the hell would Hickenlooper take part in a third-party run?

Now why the hell would Hickenlooper take part in a third-party run?
He is a good friend of John Kasich. They both appeared together on CNN to criticize Trumpcare. Hickenlooper is a moderate outsider who can easily balance an Independent centrist ticket. Kasich vetoed most of the extreme bills passed by the overwhelmingly Republican Ohio legislature. He is a true Compassionate Centrist!

She is power-hungry but prefers to work behind the scenes in Congress just like Mitch McConnell. She might run, but there is no way that she can win a primary. Her only shot at the Oval Office is if Democrats take the House and both Trump and Pence die.

If the Democratic Party somehow actually supports Pelosi:

Pres. Donald Trump/V.P. Mike Pence: 274 Electoral Votes, 36.5%
Rep. Nancy Pelosi/Sen. Amy Klobuchar: 150 Electoral Votes, 33.4%
Fmr. Gov. John Kasich/Fmr. Gov John Hickenlooper: 114 Electoral Votes, 28.1%

If the Democrats let the "candidacy" of Pelosi crash and burn:

Fmr. Gov. John Kasich/Fmr. Gov. John Hickenlooper: 291 Electoral Votes, 38.1%
Pres. Donald Trump/V.P. Mike Pence: 222 Electoral Votes, 35.9%
Rep. Nancy Pelosi/Sen. Amy Klobuchar: 25 Electoral Votes, 25.1%

California can't be called for over a week. It was originally almost a three way tie, with Trump in the lead, yet as the days went by, Kasich won by around a thousand votes. America elected its first Indy president.

I think Pelosi still wins California in this scenario... she is rather well-known there.

Usually being well-known is good, but in her case, that's not at all a good thing.

Yes, but in California, it would take someone running to her left for her to lose. Neither Trump nor Kasich are going to do that.

3-way winner take all races are weird. You would see a lot of surprising results as candidates narrowly beat out the other 2.
