trump is now in the air, and starts his 9-day journey to Saudi Arabia, Israel and global summits in Italy and Belgium.

Question :
Considering the entire tour, how badly will trump (and his big-mouth) screw-up his 1st foreign trip ?

Vote and discuss.

I voted for "trump will screw-up pretty badly". In this context, I'm putting nuclear Elmo as "the war starts before he gets home" or something equally bad. And for the record, if he doesn't come home (for example, because he seeks asylum in Saudi Arabia) that's a successful trip.

Agree. This is how I voted also.

I think Trump will create minor problems.

He'll stick strictly to the teleprompter and rely heavily on his handlers. He'll come out of this trip looking weak and like an absolute amateur.

He'll get confused, not realize which country he is in, start speaking fluent Russian, and get caught doing so on a hot mic.

Would anyone rule that possibility out at this point?

I would.

I do not believe that Trump is fluent in any language.

No super-gau but minor problems. Probably because he's so inconsistent.

This sort of thing is what Trump is best at... big organized events. He knows how to put on a show. That much is certain. This was just like Obama in the early months of his presidency when he would put on big speeches to stop the bleeding. The last time Trump did this was when he "did business" with China and bombed an airfield.  All of that being said, he is still physically out of familiar settings but can still probably work his magic.  I think he won't be able to get some of his reluctant supporters having regrets to reevaluate him, but I don't think he will create any more regret from any of this.

It is easier to screw up overseas because he will have two audiences to offend at once. I see no reason to believe that the President knows what he is talking about.

The bar is low enough that the talking heads on the MSM will probably spin it and say "I give it a B+. There are concerns, but he 'won'". Especially if the grown ups he leaves behind does something normal.

Just like the China thing.

They will praise him for not giving a Nazi salute to Angela Merkel.

It will be interesting to see if his talent for reading marks and giving them what they want extends outside of America.
