Chicago had a big, BEAUTIFUL parade downtown today.  Im glad some cities still treat Columbus with the respect he deserves.

At least Mr and Mrs Colombus have been thankful in 1958 to the one that concretely made it happen...

About as appropriate a symbol of Italian American pride as Al Capone.

But the more the Left and the Democratic Party continues to demonize Columbus, the more they will lose the white vote.

Yes, I'm white and this is basically my main issue. I don't really care about all that other stuff--national debt, ISIS, all that--the main thing I care about, as a White, is whether a guy who lived half a millennium ago is favored positively by my candidate.

About as appropriate a symbol of Italian American pride as Al Capone.

Are you suggesting we stop celebrating Al Capone Day? BUT IT'S TRADITION! Shocked

He introduced Western Civilization to the Americas.  That is something to celebrate.

Oh come on, I would think everyone past elementary school today would be aware that Columbus was not the first European to visit the Western Hemisphere...nor did he even visit either American continent.

Since when are those islands not considered part of the Americas?  They are.  I didn't say he was the first, but he was the first to have a lasting impact.

He didn't kill anyone, I don't think, but his actions led to the mass murder of American Indians.
