Obama got 9% of the Republican vote in 2008 and 6% in 2012. With as many as a 3rd of Republicans saying the will never vote for Trump in a general election, what % of Republicans will vote for Hillary Clinton this fall?

I'd say maybe 7-9%

Around 15% if Trump, 7% if Cruz, and 4% if Kasich.

6-10% If Obama could get 9% in 08 and 6% in 12 then I imagine Clinton could easily get above 5% maby even 10-12% against Trump. If Cruz or someone els is the nominee then 5%.

Certainly less than 15%, and most likely less than 10%.

Much depends on whether there's any significant 3rd party / write-in effort.

They will stay home or vote third party if they defect from Trump, not vote for Clinton.

Remember, this is Hillary Clinton we're talking about here - the one from the whole vast right-wing conspiracy?

A Democrat usually gets anywhere from 5-8%; ditto for the GOP's share of the Democratic vote. I could see her getting something like 11%.

This really depends based on who the candidate is. Against trump, the 9% Obama got in 2008 is probably the absolute floor, and I think twice that (so 18%) is a reasonable estimate, though many of them will self-identify as independents instead of Republicans by the time of the election.

~10%

Probably a lot of the Obama Republicans will become HRC Republicans (Colin Powell and William Weld are two likely ones).

But by and large, these are people who are defecting from the GOP because the party is a right-wing hot mess that no longer resembles a governing party (the same reason they voted for Obama), not because Trump isn't a "real conservative" (although they certainly hate him all the same). The number of neocons/think tank conservatives in this country who are going to vote for HRC for #NeverTrump reasons probably doesn't exceed 1,000.

10% against Trump. That's not counting those who simply skip that box.

I voted 11-15%, but I really have no idea. People say "But people always vote for their party's nominee!" Well, no one like Trump has won the nomination before, so we really don't know.

15 percent if Trump runs sounds reasonable to me.
