By area, I mean community - the people you live by, work with, go to school with, etc.

Personally, I'm a bit more conservative.

EDIT: Probably about even socially - maybe a bit more conservative, but much more conservative economically.

Citywide-  Surprise! A hair more conservative.  About right socially, a bit to the right economically.  This is Philadelphia we're talking about.

NE Philly- More liberal.  I'm about the average economically, but more to the left socially.

In Connecticut:

The few cities we have are liberal because all of the state's minorities live there (plus Yale in New Haven)

The suburbs (5,000-50,000) are more conservative but still seem to be trending even further Democrat in national elections. The only reason this changed in '04 was because Joe Lieberman wasn't on the ticket like last time.

What makes CT notable is that a lot of the remaining rural area is somewhat more liberal than the suburbs. This is because of the large ex-New Yorker community.

I am more liberal economically and socially, but not by much. Compared to the rest of the country, all of CT is socially liberal. Hell even our Assembly and Republican Governor signed a Civil Unions bill without any court order!

About the same.  My area is very blue collard.  There are quite a few union hall's within a couple miles of my home.   When it comes to social issues... My community is fairly conservative.  Overall we are very similar... Populist.

More conservative.

My town was a "swing town" (voting for Kerry by a margin of 30 votes or so).

And my college, is, not surprisingly, overwhelmingly liberal by definition.

My neighborhood - a bit more conservative.

Northeast Philadelphia - slightly more conservative on social issues and more conservative on economic issues.

Philadelphia - I don't see Philly as a liberal city like Seattle, Portland or San Fran but I am significantly more conservative.

Overall - more conservative.

Compared to very conservative Geneva, IL I'm a hard core liberal, and I'm also to the left of the average Danish voter.
