What do the principled ideological conservatives of the Republican party do in a Sanders - Trump election? The kind of people with whom the "Trump isn't a real conservative" attack on stuff like abortion and healthcare is effective. Do they hold their nose and turn out for Trump in the general if his opponent is a self-proclaimed socialist?

It'll be pretty easy getting them to turn out, nothing will motivate them more than the prospect of a socialist in the white house.

I see the Republican coalition holding up in a Trump v. Sanders race (except some Libertarians going for Gary Johnson, I suppose).  Against Clinton, some business friendly moderates will refuse to vote for him, but the business wing too will support Trump against Sanders.

Vote Trump. Sanders has done and said everything to alienate Republicans.

As a movement conservative, I know most Cruz supporters who are Movement Conservative including myself would support the Constitution Party candidate or would write in Ted Cruz, only a few would vote for Trump.

It would be split.

Some would vote for Trump, because 1. Socialism, and 2. Supreme Court.
Some would do anything to stop Trump, and vote third party.
Some would just stay home and make plans to move to another country.

LOL

Seriously, though, Gary Johnson would likely top 5% in that scenario.

You'd really risk putting Sanders in the White House and waste your vote on the Constitution Party?
