Which bombastic neo con war monger would have caused WW3 and the end of civilization ? Snarly Carly would be a good choice, as she wanted to shoot down Russian planes bombing ISIS. Lindsey Graham and his buddy John McCain are both part of the Bomb Iran on Day 1 Club. These guys would have been absolutely terrifying in the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, or the Able Archer exercises in 1983.

Graham is the ultimate warmonger, though I could see some of the others doing so too.

McCain and Graham actually both started out as comparatively dovish realists before becoming extreme neocons; McCain opposed the interventions in Lebanon, Somalia and Haiti while Graham opposed the Bosnia and Kosovo bombing campaigns. So their IRL younger versions would have probably been fairly reasonable if they'd been President during the Cold War.

I picked Carly, since there's no evidence of her ever having sane foreign policy views, and she beat Graham to the "shoot down Russian planes" idea by a month, although McCain beat her to it by a day it looks like.

Cruz and Trump OTOH are firmly in the realist camp and are arguably more dovish overall than the Clintons.

I'd say it's beyond argument.

Graham has actually come off a lot more dovish in a couple of recent interviews.  Probably him or McCain still.  I don't think Cruz really falls into the realist or neoconservative camp.  He's solely in the opportunism camp
