I voted yes, but this is the same problem I have with the death penalty, if I saw a man raping or molesting a child of mine, I'd shoot the son of a bit*h. I am a moral person with no morals.

If the father killed him it would be another question, but for this situation, no.

Yeah, if we're being fair; but I'm hardly going to lose sleep about some POS getting beat up. I'm normally cynical of people on the internet who say "yeah I would totes beat him up", but in this case, yeah, one would have to be inhumanly calm to avoid violence.

Yes. Beating up people is wrong, unless it was literally the only way to prevent a greater harm from being done (which I doubt it was in this case). Two wrongs don't make one right.

Jesus dude just shut up. Spare us that high horsed moralfag crap.

Yeah, who gives a sh*t about due process and rule of law? We should just stop prosecuting people who commit crimes on victims we don't like. That's clearly the mature, civilized way to go.

I think Antonio has the right of it on this one. The legitimate authority to punish someone for a criminal act is in the hands of the state and the state alone. Given the extenuating circumstances, the father should only receive a slap on the wrist legally, but allowing citizens to take the law into their own hands is an extremely dangerous precedent and should not be condoned.

Yes, but give a super super weak punishment.

No, the father was protecting his child, and rightfully so!

Beating up people is obviously wrong, but child molesters are not people, so no.

amen, SWE.

I also find it hilarious that people think they are morally superior by stating they are against violence. I do not agree with Antonio, at all.

Yes - rendering the perpetrator unconscious sounds as though it was unnecessary to end to the violation of the son. A couple strikes I can understand as an initial defensive measure but if molester surrenders or flees there is no longer any justification to press the attack.
While I would be cool with letting the guy stealing the stereo out of my car flee once confronted, not the ass clown that was doing what this guy was doing.  I don't know if I shoot him in the back (probably), but I'd certainly restrain him, with extreme violence if necessary, until the cops get there.
