Liberals hate when any issue comes up that favors the Republicans because it takes away their power.  They are more concerned about their control than what is best for the nation.  There are some Republicans who think that way as well but no as near as many IMO.

Also, liberals like to cast doubt on people's minds, instill fear, and create anger.  Why are so many liberals irrational?  When you point out something obvious and good that the Republicans are involved in, they get defensive and angry.

Liberals are very good at appealing to people's emotions and twisting issues to scare people.  IMO, that is the only reason elections are close in this country.

What power?  Liberals have absolutely no power in government.

Iraq is obviously bad.  What a pointless debacle.

Project much? This Republican bunch in Washington is the most power-hungry group of politicians ever in this country. They want to control EVERYTHING, including our personal lives. How is the Republican party making the lives of American citizens better? Do you honestly believe the Republicans' crap?

Also, liberals like to cast doubt on people's minds, instill fear, and create anger.  Why are so many liberals irrational?

Wow, you're doing a great job describing your party. Gay marriage, war on terror?? We're going to get attacked again if you elect John Kerry? The Republicans in 2004 ran on fear. Fear of gays, fear of terrorists. Fear fear fear.

Bushbots are the most irrational people in the country.

Yes, they've totally lost the plot. They are America's equivalent of George Galloway - and the sooner their influential is marginalised in the Democratic Party the better

You raise some very important points Miss Catholic

The problem with John Kerry is talked tough on national security/defence but didn't really have the record to back it up. A McGovernite foreign policy 'killed' the Democratic Party

Let's get back to being the party of Truman - abandoning that policy has allowed GOP presidents to realise his vision

You are correct.  They have little power right now.  My point was that liberals will automatically take the opposite position of Republicans because they think they need to, to win elections.  Or that they could NEVER agree with a Republican, how horrible that would be!!

I was responding to the subject of this thread which is:  Ultra liberals continue to call Bush a liar.  What do they want to achieve?

I think they want to delegitimize Bush through partly false means such as lying, in order to cast doubt on the Republican party to regain control.

Look no politician LIES! i dont care who they are or what they say, they dont LIE!

The best thing to do is just sit tight and wait for bush to make mistakes. bush will dig his own grave. but while ultra liberals go round calling him a liar all it does is make the republicans more stubbornly support him.

So, what do you suggest? How should peoply respond if their president is a liar?

I'm sure no conservative has ever appealed to people's emotions or twisted an issue. Roll Eyes

I admit it has happened and will always happen.  :  )  That goes without saying, although I just said it I guess.

However, I do believe Republican Party has more resolve to solve problems and has a more positive outlook.

In order to oppose the war in Iraq you don’t have to be a Liberal or an “Ultra-Liberal”
You simply have to be logical, well informed and have some understanding of  Cheney’s mindset.
