No candidate received a majority of the vote in 1832, throwing the election to the House of Representatives. There, President Martin Van Buren is seeking a second term against challengers Henry Clay and John Q. Adams, both of whom faced off in the House eight years previously. Meanwhile, the Senate must choose a vice president, with incumbent Andrew Jackson facing Anti Masonic nominee Amos Ellmaker.
Two days.

Results of the 1832 Presidential Election

President Martin Van Buren (Democratic-New York)/ Vice President Andrew Jackson (Democratic-Tennessee): 127 Electoral Votes; 34.6% popular votes
Congressman John Q. Adams (Anti Masonic-Massachusetts)/ Fmr. Judge Amos Ellmaker (Anti Masonic-Pennsylvania): 69 Electoral Votes; 26.9% popular votes

Van Buren with Ellmaker, last thing needed on top is Jackson should Van Buren die.

President Martin Van Buren (Democratic-New York): 17 States
Congressman John Q. Adams (Anti Masonic-Massachusetts): 4 States
Senator Henry Clay (National Republican-Kentucky): 1 State
Tied: 2 States

With the Democrats firmly in the majority in the House of Representatives, President Van Buren was able to stroll to a second term. His lead was further strengthened by Clay-leaning Congressmen from Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Jersey, who felt Adams had betrayed them by running against Clay and who threw their support behind Van Buren out of spite. The result was a massive victory for the incumbent, with Van Buren carrying 17 states to four for Adams and one for Clay (the delegations of Ohio and Maryland were deadlocked). Meanwhile, in the Senate, Vice President Jackson was also reelected, though by a slimmer margin, defeating former Judge Amos Ellmaker.
