Since the previous topic was deemed to be too offensive for the forum, why don't I try a topic more suited for the political compass of this board?

The Lib-Dems aren't left-wing.

I like the randomness of their inclusion; the others are at least geniunely 'anti-establishment' in one way or another.

Anyway, I echo RFayette.

Politics aside, how could anyone NOT vote for the Pirate party?

What does that mean? "Politics aside" a political party is... nothing.

PODEMOS seems like the least awful option?

Podemos (normal/sane/etc)

German Greens and Lib Dems aren't left-wing in any meaningful sense

None are my type of "left" (I'd prefer a more generic social democrat), but Podemos is the one I would be the one I am most likely to support.

An "United Kingdom Green Party" doesn't exist.

German Greens and Lib Dems aren't left-wing in any meaningful sense

Well, the German Greens did ran with a platform that was notably more left-wing than the SPD's in the 2013 Bundestag election. Their proposed tax raises for the wealthy were certainly more aggressive than the social democrats'. Although that's also what supposedly hurt them at the polls.

Let's say that the Greens have the problem that their own base is more right-wing than the party itself. The Baden-Württembergian Greens are a notable exception to this rule. Then again, that's also the cause for the frequent friction between Baden-Württemberg and the rest of the party. The fact that Baden-Württemberg is the strongest and electorally most successful state chapter doesn't help either.

The German Greens have aged in membership very quickly from what I remember.

Well, while their average membership is certainly older than it was during the 1980s, the Greens are still the third-youngest party in Germany overall (following the Pirates and the NPD, ugh). Granted that's not a hard thing to do considering that the average CDU, CSU, SPD, and Left member is around 60. Tongue

But did you mean members or voters, because I was mainly talking about voters.

I'll take PODEMOS. Youthful leftist energy, a soft-eurosceptic stance, etc.

LOL, Lib Dems being left-wing.

I'd go Podemos.
