Harkin, Grassley's a conservative everyone votes for just because "he's nice"...Harkin is nice and has positions more fitting for the state which is decidedly socially liberal.

Grassley average Senate % vote: 65.4%

Yeah, I think Grassley would defeat Harkin.

I'd say it would depend on the year. In a year like 2014, Grassley. In a year like 2012, Harkin.

Um... have you ever been to Iowa?

Iowa is not a bastion of social conservatism, but it is certainly not "decidedly socially liberal". I mean Iowa voters tossed out several SC judges just because of gay marriage in 2010.
