It is election day 1968 and America stands ready to make a choice.

After a heated primary and a near brush with death in California, New York Senator Robert F. Kennedy has emerged as the Democratic Party's Standard Bearer.  Many long for a return to Camelot and hope to find it through a second Kennedy Presidency.  He has selected North Carolina Governor Terry Sanford as his running mate, one of the emerging "new South" governors, who is Pro-Civil Rights and Integration.  Sanford had also been a Humphrey supporter, so this is seen as an attempt at party unity.

The Republican primary was equally divisive.  Early frontrunner Richard Nixon withdrew after sustaining grievous injuries in a car crash, leaving the race open.  In the end, Ronald Reagan has emerged as the nominee, drawing on the rapidly strengthening conservative base of the Republican party.  He's VP choice also reflects a show at party unity, selecting the moderate Republican John Volpe, the Governor of Massachusetts.

Meanwhile, the American Independence party ticket of George Wallace and Curtis LeMay is feeding on lingering racial anger over Civil Rights legislation and other perceived violations of State's Rights.  No one expects them to win, but Wallace is hoping to pull enough disgruntled voters to his ticket to force the election to the House, where he can play Kingmaker.

The poll will be open 5 days.

Reagan/Volpe.  I would have been a much bigger fan of Volpe than Reagan at that time, but I still would have voted for Reagan.

Other: However, Wallace had the best economic policy out of those three options.
