That will happen tonight. I change my name every 24 hours roughly on my current theme which is the in order tracklisting to La Dispute's "Wildlife" album.

No, not really.

It's pretty sad if it does.

No. It just reminds me how different some people are from me though.

No, I don't really think of it in that way.

Not reading the Update makes me feel like a better person than those who do read it.

^A subliminal fear of his own aging and relative immaturity.

No, reading the Update thread make me feel good about my own, extensive shortcomings.  I hope Jeff will take concrete steps toward getting himself fit mentally, physically and then financially. It is never too late to try to right the ship and get things back in order.

I revel in my immaturity. Period. I keep my Peter Pan syndrome I think within the bounds of not making me dysfunctional anyway. I still meet my responsibilities, and I have a lot of them believe it or not.  I hate the aging process, and have declared "war" on it, and am fighting it tooth and nail, but reading Jeff's stuff is more of a saga about a wasted youth. That is water under the bridge for me. I can't turn back the clock, and I have some wins to balance the losses anyway.

I was referencing the OP who frequently seeks cover in what others are doing to shield his own actions.  see: how he is not the oldest at his garage shows and My Little Pony work banter. I wonder what his plan is sometimes.

I don't begrudge anyone for a liking any type of silly bull$hit and keeping a youthful outlook.  However, I do think it is bad when someone becomes stuck and does not grow or challenge themselves. Just going through the motions of life. That was the biggest tragedy for me looking back on my years as a fat drunk. Complacency. Working jobs I hated or at best was indifferent toward. I got finally got sick and tired of making the same mistakes over and again. I'm starting to challenge myself to make new mistakes.

I hope in the Update that Jeff can turn things around and that something sinks in.  He is on a rather perverse merry go round of taking these familiar call center jobs, burning out and really torturing himself. It is a wasted youth and I hope he can find the strength to make changes. Frankly, I'm reminded of Good Will Hunting, I hope the day comes where I show up and there is no perilous tale of woe on Page 1 of Forum Community.

Not really.  I feel that something similar or probably even worse would await me the moment I set foot back in the Bad Place.

Yes, to some extent, and I think that's a big part of the reason why I enjoy it. I certainly have plenty of my own problems but his tend to distract me from my own (at least for a little while here and there).

And I'll gladly admit that that's not a good thing.
