Podcast on some of the lies to cover for Donald Trump for the guilty verdict (no, Alvin Bragg did not campaign promising to prosecute Donald Trump) and how the mainstream Washington media enables/coddles the liars.

https://newrepublic.com/article/182157/youre-lying-george-conway-erupts-pro-trump-republican-cnn

Scott Jennings is a sleazy liar and at first I'd turn away from CNN whenever he was on, but I decided to 'cancel' CNN all together and I don't get it anymore anyway.

So, I didn't hear it on CNN, but on ABC radio News that 'the Trump defense team had destroyed the credibility of Michael Cohen/the prosecution', and, if I recall correctly I believe one ABC radio report even said that there was a good possibility the judge would dismiss the case without letting it get to the jury.

I thought it was interesting the mainstream media is obviously trying to get into Trump's good books but spewing this stuff, but mostly I thought it was silly because I knew the reporter had no way of knowing what especially the jury was thinking.

I'm predicting he gets sentenced to the full 136 years, and that there is specifically a denial of any chance of parole. And hopefully, the DOJ will directed by Biden to block any attempt to appeal to the SC. No escape routes.

20 years is the maximum he can get. I don't think this liberal overshoot thing is going to get your topic creation abilities back any sooner. Posting normally might.

I just realized that in case Biden wins reelection, he will also be the first presidential candidate to defeat convicted felon, lol.

If this really does prove to be a "nothing burger", that is a very damning indictment of this country and its people. There should be some things that represent a bridge too far, and I'd say literally being a criminal should be disqualifying. If Biden were literally convicted, I would not vote for him, and I would certainly lose respect for anyone who would continue to support him afterward because "other side bad" or who warped their worldview to think anything even suggesting that their preferred candidate isn't a good person must be "biased", "rigged", etc. People who still support Trump have no excuse. They don't have to vote for Biden. They don't even have to stop calling themselves Republicans. But if they knowing support a criminal despite all the "law and order" BS and clutching their pearls about "illegal" immigrants (and believing they deserve very harsh treatment), then they are despicable people with no values, no ifs ands or buts. My standards for this country are already very low, but I will see this country in an unequivocally negative light if it literally and knowingly elects a criminal president.

The country is SICK of being “indicted” by moralizing, ruling class elites.

One of the longest running gags of this forum is users “indicting” the general public for not voting the way they want them to. It’s a democracy bob.

I'm "ruling class"? Interesting, they never gave me the memo, nor did they give me a few nice houses, a few nice cars, and territory on a Hawaiian island to keep the locals out so that I can party with my other ruling class friends a few times during the year.

Warren G. Harding erasure, among the opponents he beat in 1920 was Eugene V. Debs, who won a little over 3% of the vote, almost 1M votes (but not his own as a convicted felon) as the Socialist nominee while federally imprisoned on sedition charges for opposing the Great War, & it was President Harding who ultimately commuted the sentence & ordered Debs' release on Christmas Day 1921, insisting on inviting him to the White House the next day for the 2 men's first public meeting (Harding despised Wilson's political persecutions like Debs').

Lyndon LaRouche's presidential bid in 1992 was conducted from federal prison.

58% of likely voters approve of verdict, 38% disapprove.

Of swing voters, 60% approve, only 24% disapprove.

Clearly, the majority of voters not only are about this conviction, but approve of it.

Ah but you see, the people who have been religiously showing up to vote for Republicans in every election ever since they heard Obama was going ban Christianity are even angrier now, which magically makes their votes count more, I'm told

Maggie Haberman says that the sentencing date being days before the RNC is, as always, Trump's lawyers' fault:

The July date for sentencing is a date that Trump’s own lawyer sought. It is not as if the judge was like, “oh, yes, let’s let’s do this there. ”

Todd Blanche asked for, he didn’t mention the Republican National Committee, but he did ask for a mid to late July sentencing date. So that was his choice.

Watching MTG humiliate herself is like watching Nazis being punched. It warms my heart.

I mean I wouldn't vote for George Floyd to be president were he still alive and anyone who would is completely insane so I'm not sure what point she's making here.

Well, to be fair, your vote does tend to count more when you are also voting for your dead relative, as Republicans are fond of doing as we saw in 2020.

if 42% of Republicans think, now, a felon should not be allowed to run for President that seems significant. Wonder if they're putting 2 & 2 together.
