I think Gingrich. They clearly hate Romney and Paul. Whatever they do they must unite to propel their candidate to first. Perry, Bachmann, and Santorum all appease them, but all have been lacking (Perry in debating skills) (Bachmann in any form of intelligent life) (Santorum in momentum...though he is gaining some now in the state).

So I think it will be between Gingrich and Santorum and they'll have to say remember 08, Huckabee we propelled to victory but he ran out of money and had no organization out of the state. Gingrich is already very strong in South Carolina (he has barely taken a dip in the polls today compared to the last two weeks) and he's vamping up ground work in Florida.

Vander Platts wants Gingrich, half the board wants somebody else. It will be interesting to see which one won tomorrow morning.

I think Santorums dedication to Iowa will soon pay off. I say him. Why would a group big on "family values" endorse Gingrich? Talk about a mixed message.

It would render their organization a joke by endorsing Gingrich. Either Santorum/Perry/Bachmann or no endorsement.

I don't know, but going by the name I bet they're 31 kinds of fun. Tongue

For those who forget: remember that pledge which Bachmann got in trouble for signing because its preamble suggested that black families were nuclear, and therefore better off, under slavery and Jim Crow this summer? That was the TFL pledge. Vander Plaats is the guy who organized the SCOI recalls and was Branstad's TP challenger in the 2010 gubernatorial primary.

They'll become a joke of an organization if they endorse Gingrich. Surely they aren't that stupid.

Perry or Santorum. Or, if they're in the mood for a laugh, Bachmann.

Paul or Bachamann. This may shock some but so-cons are starting to give Paul a further glance.

They've already explicitly ruled out Paul in a press release (along with Romney and Huntsman).

OK, and this thread is about this faction's endorsement. Thank you for playing non-sequiter roulette; move along now.

If they truly do stand for families -- which they don't most likely, like the American Family Association et al -- they'd endorse Paul, as he's the only candidate who has no intent of tearing families apart, either here or abroad.

But they'll probably endorse some fascist theo-con.

Me either. But it's a sad fact in American politics that just about every organization with the word "family" in their name is, in fact, a hate group.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the news stories, it looks like they're not endorsing, though Vander Plaats and some other dude endorsed Santorum individually.

Some reverend endorsed newt. This is why I can't take evangelical Christians seriously.
