Option 2. I don't crowd surf and stay away from things like circle pits so that eliminates me from option 1. I don't do that pseudo-kickboxing crap either (granted basically no one over 21 does but I never did even when I was younger thankfully.)

When I saw Buffalo Tom there was an interesting dichotomy because there was actually many olds present and it was at a theater that also has plays and stuff so it was full of restaurant style tables and chairs. So all the olds were seated and sipping their beers. Meanwhile the youngs were all up front jumping around and spilling our drinks all over ourselves. It wasn't until after the show that I wondered what the olds thought of that since they no doubt did that sort of thing 10-20 years ago.

I think setting is important.  I'd probably sit if I was at concert held at an event where there was nothing but formal seating/tables.  But if it was a dance setting it would be pretty ridiculous to sit.

Depends on the concert. Obviously I'm not going to dance at a Sufjan Stevens or Arcade Fire show because that would be weird, so I'll probably stand and drink my beer and maybe nod my head. Now if I go see a band like Cut Copy which I saw recently, we're going to dance a little bit, though it's different from dancing at a club or a party, because you're all basically facing the stage still. And then if I see something more punk-y or noise rock-y probably the jump up and down thing, being a lot more physical (though I would never violently mosh or really go to a show where that would be a possiblity). Never crowd-surfed, but I suppose I might if given the opportunity.

No music is played there to my knowledge.

Somewhere between options two and three, depending a lot on venue and who's playing. Crowdsurf more than once at a single show, btw, and you're an annoying tool.

Mind you, since I haven't been to a concert that involved a mosh-pit since I was 16... 12 years ago. The range of possible activities is limited.

Agreed, though I might make some exceptions for more than once if during single sets, or if it's an all day fest.
