Hello again all, my name is Jake Matthews and I'm running for Northeast Assembly. The reason I have decided to run is because I feel my government and legislators are a bit out of touch with me as a citizen. I have posted this poll to get a feel of what Northeast citizens would like to see improved and/or created in order to make their lives simpler, easier and better. As many of you know, I'm running on a platform of Governmental transparency. However, I have not made clear my stances on other issues. So I'll take advantage now.

Social Policy:
I am a social liberal, I support a woman's right to choose, but I do not support governmental subsidies. I also support a couple's right to marry, whether they be two women, two men or a man and a woman, love has no boundaries. I am an adamant advocate (a bit of alliteration for all my writers and poets out there! Tongue) of the legalization of marijuana, with a tax and heavy regulation.

Economic Policy:
Simply put, I am a fiscal conservative with moderate capitalist tendancies. I support lower taxes for every Northeast citizen, regardless of income. I also support removing Atlasia's current system of universal health care in favor of a private, Free-Market system in which citizens may choose their own care. Finally, I am against regulation of businesses in many cases and I am also a supporter of free trade with the exception of trading labour. Your job will stay in the Northeast if I am elected to the assembly.

If there are any other issues that you would like to know where I stand on, feel free to comment and I will respond ASAP.

Thanks for your time!

-Jake Matthews

how do you plan to stop "trading labour" between regions? do you mean to stop business in the Northeast from hiring elsewhere in the country? certainly you can't stop business headquartered in other regions from leaving your own.

I am not opposed to trading labour between regions, I am opposed to international exportation of labour.
