I lean favorably towards most libertarian views, but what I like most about them by far is their consistency. Their views can be boiled down to a few basic principles, and knowing these principles, you can generally get the libertarian position on most issues. This is pretty rare. Most groups come with an amalgamation of different views held together by historical circumstances that you have to learn one by one.

As a libertarian (not a Libertarian) on many issues, I find the consistency most favorable. But some Libertarians are rather inconsistent; for instance, some use the Constitution when arguing for a restricted federal government, while at the same time holding that the 16th Amendment is unconstitutional.

Badnarik had a lot of good positions

- End the war on drugs
- Pro-choice
- No Iraq war
- Opposed the Patriot Act
- Privacy in bedrooms
- Wants government to be be in the marriage business
- Opposes WTO (but maybe not for the reasons I oppose it)

I'd give him an A+ on social issues, a B+ on foreign policy, and an D- on economic issues

Actually, that's incorrect. He's pro-life.

You're kind of right. I checked, and it looks like he's trying to have it both ways.

Oh, he has some good economic veiws.  Free-markets are always better than the regulated mixed economy.

I like many of their views... but the problem is that they take it too far in some cases.   In addition, the Libertarians simply don't deal well with the whole "running candidates to win elections" end of the political party business.
