There is no reason that Americans should be barred from travelling to Cuba.

Yes, because they are counterproductive at this point and have been for at least two decades.  However until the Castros both pass away, I don't see American policy towards Cuba taking a lurch towards sanity.

It's utterly stupid to still have it in place...

I doubt you'll get a whole lot of disagreement out of this site. Of course the restrictions on Cuba are stupid.

Well, it makes as much sense as the ridiculous status quo option.

I'm happy than Canada didn't followed the US way on it.
In fact, former PM Trudeau was a friend of Castro. He even came to the funeral of Trudeau.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen this level of unanimity on an issue here.

You think that is a plus for Trudeau?

Considering Max is from Quebec, I suspect he has bigger issues with Trudeau than his friendship with Castro.

Travel and embargos should be repealed.  At this point we just look silly.

Plenty of other western leaders are friends with people who make Fidel look like an angel.

Still, being friends with Fidel is nothing to brag about. It's just as shameful as the Bush family's friendship with the House of Saud.

I'm a Cuban-American, and yes to full repeal. Also, end the embargo. It's giving Castro a scapegoat for Cuba's problems.

Well, it showed than the Canadian-Cuban relations are/were quite cordial.
And, like Marokai said, I have bigger issues with Trudeau. Which are the same than most people from Quebec, really.
