At this point, given that Mexico has offered asylum to the migrants and a chance to start a new life in Chiapas, why wouldnt they just accept that deal?

Mexico is not on par with the US in terms of standard of living, etc but its still head and shoulders above some portions of central america and the cultural shock will be muted somewhat.
