Yup.

You cant expect African Americans to get as excited for Gore or Kerry vs Obama. Not only electing him but keeping him in office drove up turnout significantly.

It will be interesting to see if this level of intensity is maintained if a non black candidate is nominated next time

It will be interesting to see how black turnout responds to not having an African American on the ballot in 2016.

I think black turnout beat white turnout in 2012 for the first time in a long time, will that momentum be sustained in 2016?
