I note that this federal law still applies if the Right to Life Act is repealed:

Abortion will still be restricted after the 28th week of pregnancy, although it's barely a restriction at all. But the Right to Life Act goes too far for me to not scrap it altogether. If someone wants to introduce a bill that reinstate some abortion restrictions, do so in a bill that pertains specifically to abortion.
As for Hatman's proposals, I support his amendment to 4. on civil liberty grounds but not his amendment to 3. as is. There are situations where deportation is justified, provided the deportees are not risking death upon their return. For example, when the immigrant commits a crime other than illegally immigrating. Abolishing the "state of being an illegal alien" is also a bad idea, there are reasons why immigrants don't get automatic acceptance in the Mideast. Those who pass the process of legal immigration should be distinguished with those who did not. It would conflict with federal immigration laws as well.
Sorry for the interruption but this federal legislation will likely be ruled unconstitutional. This is obviously not my role to be an assemblyman so I dont want to influence the debate but this is just for information: if the right to life act is repealed, abortion will likely be zllowed until the end of pregnancy.
Best,
WJ
