So why is the AP giving results for a "Dem special primary" in NJ-1 that appears to be separately from the regular primary?

From some reports on Twitter, Carr isn't on the ballot in at least one county, Cannon. Might be just an isolated incident though.

That's weird.

Interesting note: Lamar Alexander actually lost his home county, Blount, with 44.3% to Carr's 47.1%.

Is tracy or desjaruwhatever the tea party candidate?

DesJarlais and (it could be said) Fleischmann are the Tea Partiers; Tracy and Wamp are the mainliners. Both were elected in 2010.

I don't think Fleischmann can be fairly described as a Tea Partier; I'm honestly not sure how to describe him, but I think he's more establishment than he is tea party. Wamp is just really weird.

He didn't have any money. Gordon Ball was the only Democratic candidate with any ads to speak of, if I'm not mistaken. Adams probably only came as close as he did due to his favorable ballot placement. In the gubernatorial race, where no one had any money, Brown won handily due to his ballot placement, while McKamey, the only candidate who even had a campaign website, won less than thirty percent. I voted for McKamey and Adams, just for the sake of disclosure.

How can someone with only 42 Facebook likes and who doesn't even have a website become the Democratic nominee for TN Governor ?

His name was first on the ballot. You'd think the primary voters would have learned their lesson from the disaster last time, but apparently not.

At least the party officials managed to keep Clayton off this time.
