Gonna go with LA.  Massive population.  It has Hollywood, which is what is globally significant in most parts of the world.  There's also a lot of international travel to and from there.  Cities like that get a boost on the global scene even if they aren't quite as significant in the US.  Miami would be another example of a city that is disproportionately significant to the rest of the world (though it's no-where near the second most important US city even by this calculation).
