I don't know if the GOP will be capable of governing at any point in the foreseeable future. Their base is stupid to the point where I am convinced that it must be some kind of disease. Even if they ever did accomplish anything productive their voters would find a reason to hate them for it. So all they can do to survive their primaries is engage in this endless public demonstration of antisocial behavior. It's pathetic.
This is an excellent summary of the current situation with the GOP.
I found the comment about "it being some kind of disease" to be most relevant, as I myself cannot fathom how or why anyone would want to follow trump and MAGA line-of-thinking. The only logical explanation is that it must be something like a "disease" that would/could describe this Hellish behavior.
