There is nothing wrong with the statement, but if Trump had said this it would have been torn to shreds once again by the media.

... Trump has a long history of racially insensitive remarks and outright racism/sexism. That's not the case with Uncle Joe.

When I was in college, I worked in an office as a staff accountant, and we had the most adorable and very intelligent purchasing manager, who was in his 80's (he even drove to work in his own car).
He was a great individual, high morals, someone to look up-to.

Anyway, I remember how he would refer to the other older employees (in their forties) as "kids" and "boys and girls." This is something older individuals (in their 70's and 80's) do; there is no malice intended.
