Yes.
Even though some of those who are apologizing to our allies now (on behalf of the USA) are not necessarily Democrats, but Republicans (Thank you John McCain!) ...

Maybe the idea of an apology tour will be popular enough by then for a candidate to win by openly campaigning on it.

I agree.
Maybe not necessarily campaigning with the use of the word "apology," but more like re-establishing the great relations we used to have with our allies, before Orange-Narcissist tore them all down.
