My only experience there was driving I-44 to I-40 across the state on a cross-country roadtrip, so I have no real basis to judge it. That said, I don't really like the Great Plains or the South and Oklahoma unfortunately combines those two regions.
I will just say this though. Most American cities are basically the same. If you have a job and a good group of friends who you like, anywhere in American can be a great place to live. It's so silly to fixate on these regional differences. You can find your people in any American city. And in fact, some of the smartest people I've ever met grew up in Oklahoma.
