I think this is a simple question that many have faced by now. Should something unfortunate happen that causes your untimely demise, do you support donating your organs upon your death?

As for myself, I say yes, absolutely. It says so on my driver's license. Furthermore, although I haven't had the conversation yet, both of of my parents have the same notation on their own. So long as there is no chance of survival, I would make no effort against that wish (as I would hope they would do the same with me).

To be honest, I think we should have a national opt-out policy where one must proactively choose not to donate one's organs. I don't understand why anyone would choose to opt-out, but apparently they exist.

I can't because I had the hepatitis when I was a lad.

Yeah, that would definitely be an Other vote. It's not that you wouldn't, it's just that you can't.

However, I'm not sure how that works today. I know that certain people with HIV can donate to others with HIV based on new federal law. I don't know how that works with other transmittable diseases (such as Hepatitis), to be honest.

Nope, officially objected to it. Willing to donate blood, though, but they don't want mine.

I'm not going to condemn either of you, but based on pure curiosity, why have you both opted that way? What is your reasoning?
