In my experience, a luncheon is a more organized affair that leans closer to a la carte. I don't eat lunch per se, and I don't really eat breakfast per se. I'm a light snacker throughout the day (hummus is a favorite), and then I eat dinner usually somewhere around 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 with lots of wine before and during the meal. I stay away from red meat, so if I attend a luncheon, or a lunch, there first and foremost has to be something there for me to eat, or else I'll weasel out of it. Tongue
