I was wrong. Not sure if it was the smartest thing for him to do for 2020, but I guess he couldn't embrace Trump.
The problem is that Cruz crapped on a whole slew of downballot Republicans. How many local Republicans will lose because folks vote their consciences and the Libertarian with 3% of the vote makes a difference in a race.
Ultimately, Cruz crapped on himself. If he doesn't say "I'm voting for Trump." tonight or tomorrow, he's done for 2020. He's black-marked himself, and the stain won't come off.
